Carson Reeder is a fine artist and textile designer from Fort Lauderdale, FL. She earned her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Fibers and currently lives and works in Charleston, SC. Her work is centered around the hand and exploring new ways to create and manipulate a surface. After working closely with a silk studio in Lyon, France, she began to focus on silk, exploring every way to incorporate the material into her fine art work. Her practice is rooted in process, exploring new techniques as well as looking towards history and studying how processes have evolved over time to guide her practice.
